Hello, August! (just saying hi!)

Hello! It’s the first day of the month; August 1, to be exact.

How time flies, really.  My last post was back in January, and now here we are approaching the last quarter of 2018.  Where did all that time go?

As with you, I had been busy with the all the important and mundane things in my life, which was why I had not been here for the last, oh, 6 months? I hope things are doing well on your side of the planet, as it is here in mine.

Speaking of planet, my last post had been about my struggle to stay sustainable and to limit use of material things and production of trash.  Well, it is still a struggle today, unfortunately, as there seems to be no doing away with plastic and packaging materials in our everyday life.

I have made very little changes in my everyday life, like making sure I have my eco-bags all the time so I don’t need plastic or paper bags, and bringing my own utensils and straw, to lessen use of disposal ones.  I also don’t buy as much stuff nowadays, and try to use what I already have, never mind if I am kinda sick of it.  Super baby steps, but it’s a start, right?

I do want to start composting, though, but I am still researching on how to go about doing that in a smallish area like our house is.  Let’s see.

What about you?  What steps have you already taken to ensure we don’t drown in our own trash sooner than later?
