Noooooo.)

(The Legend of Binangonan or How Binanongan Got its Name)

(Once upon a time, there was a young man who fell in love with a girl from a far off place.  When the girl’s father learned about this, he fumed and insulted the poor lad because he wasn’t well-off, while they come from a wealthy family.)

(Nevertheless, though her father was very much against their relationship, the young couple’s affection blossomed into love.)

(One day, while the young girl was out with her friends, her boyfriend went to their usual meeting place, not knowing that what he would find there was a ghastly end for him, as the girl’s father had purposefully come to catch them in the act.  Father severely beat up the young lad, and decapitated him so he could no longer liaise with his daughter… forever.)

Pag dating ni ate girl, na sight niya na tegiboms na si kuya, at kahit mag crayola pa siya ng 50 golden years, ay hindi na mag rereturn of the comeback ang kanyang bowa.

(When daughter came by to their rendezvous place later that evening, what she found waiting was not her lover, but a lifeless corpse. “No amount of tears could bring him back,” she thought, and she was beside herself with grief.)

(She was, however, seriously mistaken.  For that night, as the moon rose, young lad, in all his deathly fury, rose from the dead to come looking for his missing head.)

Bumangon siya. Kaya Binangonan.  Getching?”

(Bangon = get up or arise; thus Binangonan = place from whence he had risen) Get it?
