When you live in a country that experiences all kinds of calamities, things like the earthquake that hit Nepal last April 25, 2015 can have 2 possible effects: 1.) you either get desensitized and eventually end up not caring, or 2.) you genuinely empathize and feel for others.
Hopefully, you got hit with #2.
For those who want to help, there are international charities that are helping Nepal cope with the devastating aftermath of the earthquake.
My agencies of choice are Unicef and World Food Program (WFP), both of which, as you know, are United Nations agencies. They have online donation sites which accepts all major credit cards. There are fixed amounts for donation, but you may also choose to give an amount other than those they listed in the site.
For easier transactions, the Red Cross has partnered with local Philippines telcos Globe and Smart, making donating as simple as sending a text message:
SMS
Text RED<space>AMOUNT to 2899 (Globe) or 4143 (Smart)
Available denominations are as follows:
Globe: 5, 25, 100, 300, 500 or 1000
Smart: 10, 25, 50, 100, 300, 500 or 1000
